Seriously, Paramore is your Death Cab. This crap comes up all the time with dcfc now and somehow it still hasn't sunk in that they're supposed to be some sort of big fucking deal now. Without the ease of the fan club ticket buying I know I'd get pissed at them, and how. Come on, they couldn't sell out the Glass House before. A venue that didn't have an alcohol license. The big difference in my mind though is that it took Death Cab many years to get to this point whereas it seems like bands blow up way too quickly nowadays.
Yeah I know. And you're absolutely right that the difference is that Paramore blew up in a hot second, and it took death cab maybe about two - years to make that glass house -> greek theatre -> omgz mccarren park pool in brooklyn leap. I think what upsets me the most about this seated venue thing is that Paramore really isn't a bad that you can just sit / stand in place and listen to. When you take out that general admission and that pit of crazy sweaty kids, you take out a significant chunk of the power of the live show. OMAN talking about it makes me want to cry, haha. But hey, Death Cab pit tickets in June FTW!!!
