What are five things you're good at?
Submitted by HapaLove.
1. eating: in my prime I downed 5x5's from in-n-out with animal style fries and a medium doctor pepper. I also once almost entirely annihalated a 32 ounce double porterhouse from Morton's. The table next to us sent their regards and respect to our waitress who ultimately passed on the message to myself, and this was I believe for my fifteen birthday which was when I weighed about...less than a hundred pounds? haha.
2. napping: this goes without saying.
3. going to shows: this includes knowing when they're going down, always buying my tickets on time so I never have to worry about paying scalp prices, knowing how to work the crowd to get close to the front/away from noobs, adequately fending for my own life in a pit (underoath at warped 2005 was undoubtedy the scariest), adequately fending for the lives of my friends in a pit, knowing when and when not to crowdsurf, having great pit hospitality and always helping someone who's on top even if they've just fallen on my head and nearly kicked the vision out of my eyes for a split second, always helping someone who has fallen down, laughing at 12 year girl possee's in their matching just-purchased band merchandise who only know the mtv hits or singles of the headliner, rhythmic clapping only when i feel like it's neccessary or warranted, and keeping my ticket stubs.
4. listening to music/having an ear for "good" music: my taste in music is incredibly eclectic which some of you already know, and I guess i'm good at knowing each respective genre that i'm interested in pretty well. this also includes plotting to destroy MTV, KROQ, and KIIS fm.
5. avoiding style trends: I pride myself in having my own style, which is mostly inspired by the music I listen to, its culture, my love for patterns (argyle, stripes, polka-dots), colors (neons, pastels, the simplicity of just a plain black or white t-shirt), and my own mood of the day. I have a lot of band merchandise, but I refuse to double up on it (aka wearing a paramore tshirt under an anberlin hoodie). I wear band merchandise not only to support the bands I love, but also because a lot of band merchandise is unique and sports nice designs that you can't find anywhere else (this sentence is akwardly structured, i know). However, I don't only wear band merchandise; I can't live without my sevens (they make my butt "ciao ciao," or perky in english, as my mom would say, hahahaha), hoodies, blazers, collared shirts, beanies, caps, aviators, foot-wear (dunks, vans slip-ons and classics, chucks, &rainbows), and messenger bag. Let's not confuse what I said just now though, as me stating that I think I'm stylish. Because let's be honest, we're never going to see an outfit I've picked out on the runway at fashion week in Paris or NYC. I simply believe that I have my own style--something I think has been lost today in the deluge of Hollister and popped collars.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

What character in a book can you connect with or relate to the most?
Submitted by Eating A Book.
Um, hands down, Darren Shan from the Cirque du Freak series. vampire prince, teenager, advocate of peace between the vampires and vampaneze, ... k, well wait. I guess that's a bit of a stretch, but I DO think he's rad. To be honest though, Jughead from Archie comics. He's witty, rocks the coolest hat(s) ever, and most importantly, eats a caravan load a day, and stays skinny. I'm sorry this wasn't the insightful -i-relate-to-a-character-from-a-steinbeck-novel- type answer some of you were probably expecting. But Jughead = Me. And yes, archie comics are legitimate reading material.
What's your dream career?
Submitted by Something.
Ultimately, I want to hold some high position in the music industry. High doesn't necessarily mean that I want to be the president of Def Jam records (but hey, that would be really nice. does anyone know Jay-Z's number? cause if so, the Hov and I need to have a little chat.) My greatest greatest greatest perfect career though, would be owning a label and producing and/or managing bands on the rise. Sigh. Let's see if that happens. Oh and I guess it would be nice to be an Iron Chef, though it seems like that dream has fallen out of my reach. If Stern has a major in whooping culinary ass, then I guess i'm still in the running! Okay, back to, yes, you guessed it, more conwest studying. peace out playerssss.
What's your favorite radio station, past or present?
The radio (and mtv) is a waste of time and life. Don't get sucked into the commercialism of it all, it's the devil's work. You'd know what I mean if you had a favorite band that you'd been listening to for a while, and suddenly the radio finds one "hit" by the band to play over and over and publicize that this "NEW" band and "NEW" song is so great. then a bunch of effing slutbag groupies say that they are number one fans and end up ruining the shows that I go to by either whoring themselves out and just going for the sake of wanting to get in the lead singer's pants or motivating the radio station to jack up ticket prices to three times what I used to pay. well, eff that.

"Con West was the Death of Me"
In a nutshell, my life has been pretty damn good up until this point. "this point" being the time in which my brain self combusts into a huge conflagration of useless philosophical terminology. Whoever said freshman year of college would be one of the funnest, most unforgettable, times of my life was either on academic probation, or flat out lying. I hate con west and the damage it's doing to my once fairly confident self-esteem regarding the english language. the effing end.
What's your sign? What do you think of astrology and horoscopes?
I'm a Scorpio and also a dragon in the Chinese Zodiac. What do I think of astrology and horoscopes? I think it's all basically a bunch of baloney, but I still read my horoscope in all of my trashy celebrity gossip mags. =)
PS, CIWWAF and hellogoodbye tomorrow and tuesday. hopefully meg and dia, on both friday and saturday, but at least once would make me a happy camper. Crazy conwest midterm next tuesday, but after that i'll feel a lot more relaxed. Um, other updates on my life... I'm going home for Thanksgiving and am in love with the fact that nyc is host to the cmj festival, basically one of the most god-sent things to happen to music next to Coachella and Warped. It's like a combination of Coachella and Warped, minus the heat and backtobacktobacktobacktoback performances that leave you ridiculously tired at the end of the day, PLUS a film festival which this year features Noel Gallagher who will be showing the Oasis documentary to the public for the first time, PLUS guest musician panel speakers that talk about the music industry. Anyway, I didn't get a pass this year because I found out about it and how it works, too late, AND this first year i'm prioritizing my grades and trying to get into the groove of things...so, instead of seeing a gillion bands this week, i'm going to study for con west (call me lame, but i'm just trying to make the parents proud and not waste the monedas that they're spending on my college education). However, I will be buying passes the next three years no matter what, and will become a seasoned veteran before you can say 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' 10 times in a row. Oh, and to Beckie, i've made the executive decision that you'll have to fly out for at least one of them. =) Anyway, peace out players.

What are some of your favorite, forgotten albums that have stood the test of time?
Submitted by PeterGibbons.
Not to say that any of these albums are forgotten, but they are definitely timeless favorites.
The Cure - Galore; first introduced to me by my sister when she taught me the lyrics of 'Just Like Heaven' when I was in the 3rd grade. Ahaaha. Anyway, I THINK this is the one album that i've listened to the most from back to front. I mean I do that a lot (listen to an album from back to front over and over), but this just might be ranked #1 most played.
Oasis - What's The Story (Morning Glory); 'Wonderwall' was the first song I ever memorized in its entirety, and this was also in the 3rd grade under the influence of my sister. As you can see, she introduced me to some of my favorite bands to date, when I was merely in elementary school. (PS, I still think it's so funny how people quote 'maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me/and after all, you're my wonderwall.' I mean the song is great, but there are far more romantic heartfelt lyrics floating around the universe than those...haha. Stop pretending you're so hip because you love and know the lyrics to one (hit) Oasis song)
Blur - Parklife; The last favorite band of mine under the influence of my sister (The Cure, Oasis, and Blur being the three). Anyway, what an awesome album. It's a pity for all those KROQ suckers that only know Song 2, and don't know the correlation between Blur and the Gorillaz.
The Clueless Soundtrack; 'nuff said.
Weezer - The Blue Album; proving 'say it ain't so' isn't just the lyric of a blink-182 song.
Interpol - Turn On the Bright Lights; I know this isn't that old of an album, but I know it's one that I/I'll never get sick of. Interpol, where you at!? I miss you =(
Coldplay - Parachutes; same comment as above, replacing "Interpol" with "Coldplay"
NSYNC - NSYNC; Tearing up my heart, I Want You Back, God Must Have Spent... OHhhhh who knew a 17 year old could have such nostalgic feelings.
What's the best way to spend a rainy day?
Submitted by Vee.
There are many great ways to spend a rainy day, and these great ways include but are not limited to: listening to jack johnson in my coche, driving around at night listening to the rain hitting the body of my car, sitting in the passenger seat watching the rain drops sliding and "collecting" other drops on the window (when I was little I used to pretend that the sliding drops were "mom" drops, that were frantically hurrying to grab their children to save them (from what, i'm not sure)), watching a movie, reading a book nestled in the warmth of my blankets, under a giant tent (monte carlo 2006, bitc*es), out in the open in your finest clothing (coronation 2005, and i'm not even being sarcastic), just bumming it on my couch watching television, and running corners on our turf field back home (i can still hear enright yelling at me "pass them! just pass them! good slo, GOOD) as the pouring rain soaks through my sweatshirt so much that I have to take it off and just run in my tshirt and pants...
