In no particular order:
1) Blog about my ridiculously and amazingly epic time at Sasquatch 2008
2) Land an internship
3) Work on Pencil Sketch like it's nobody's business
4) Pick up photography
5) Play more piano and guitar
6) Write and blog more
7) Give up red meat (temporarily)
8) Read at least 3 books a month
I figure I'll just write in here for a little bit while hostgator activates my account for the website (if you're asking 'what website?' the answer to that question will be known soon enough). Anyway, the summer's been a little ridiculous. Loads of hanging out with friends, going to the beach, going to bed at obscene hours of the day--you know, the usual. What IS unusual though is that about three weeks ago we made another addition to the family. No, my mom did not give birth to a third child. but Yes, we did finally get a dog. After much contemplation and conversation, throwing out but being close to calling her Sadie or Houston (pronounced like the street, not the city) we finally came to the name Bunny, because she runs like a rabbit but "Thumper" is too hard for my mom to pronounce. Because I'm a lazy turd and don't feel like uploading pictures directly to vox, here's a link where you can see some pictures of her. She's a Maltese, a little over three months old, and is a giant pain in the ass because we're trying to potty train her, but damn is she smart, and hot damn is she the cutest thing I've ever had running around my house. <3
As for shows, I haven't been to many since the start of summer except Ben Gibbard at Town Hall, Architecture in Helsinki at the Glass House, Warped Tour in Pomona, and Warped Tour in Ventura. All four were excellent, and warped, mostly paramore, was amazing, as always. There were some crazy dude-bros being obnoxious and doing stupid testosterone-driven UN-pit-hospitable things in Ventura, but it was still a very enjoyable set. Anyway, while I've had a slow start with shows, starting the end of next week, shit's going to get crazy. Here is my schedule mostly for my own recollection purposes, but perhaps also for some of your pleasure.
Saturday July 21: DAFT PUNK @ the LA Sports Arena
Monday July 23: Snow Patrol @ the Greek
Tuesday July 24: Tegan and Sara in-Store @ Fingerprints in the LBC
Wednesday July 25: Tegan and Sara in-Store @ Amoeba
Thursday July 26: Tegan and Sara @ the Malibu Performing Arts Centre
Saturday July 28: Projekt Revolution (LINKINPARK!, Saosin, TBS) @ Hyundai Pavilion
Life's going to be both stressful and ridiculously amazing next week. I can't wait to go to any show, but thus far I am most excited for three days in a row with my favorite Canadian sister musicians. <3
Time to go check back to see if my website's activated, and as Rob Dyrdek and Big Black would say, "Do work, son."
Peace and Love.
